St. Bartholomew’s Day
From St. Bartholomew’s Day (24.08) onwards the farms did not have the noon break for a meal any longer. Night threshing of rye started at manors, winter rye and wheat had to be seeded by that day. It was believed that edible mushrooms were seeded in the forest only on St. Bartholomew’s Day. Before St. Bartholomew’s Day there are only boletuses.
