Lightning map vs warnings

The real-time lightning map shows stations reporting thunder now; warnings are official alerts for hazardous weather. The map helps you track; warnings tell you when to be especially careful.

Both matter during storms but serve different roles.

Lightning map (weather.ee)

  • Storms, wind, cold and other hazards
  • Mandatory reference for danger

When to use which?

  • Track storms on the map
  • Follow warnings for official danger
  • Use both for beach, hiking or travel
